Welcome,
Please come on in.

My name is Annalisa Barrett and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I engage via talk therapy with individuals, couples and children who present with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship distress, phase of life issues as well as other areas of need and focus. I have a background in catering to the perinatal community as I am a trained prenatal yoga teacher and postpartum doula. For women, their partners and their families, the transition to motherhood/parenthood can be challenging to navigate and this is a specialized area where I can offer expertise and support.

Philosophy/Orientation

I approach my therapeutic relationship with clients from a stance of high regard and acceptance. The bravery it takes to vulnerably reveal oneself to a mere stranger is not lost on me. I create an empathic space to process emotions, patterning and trauma that may be holding you back from obtaining your life goals and desired outcomes.

I use a variety of techniques in my practice, including but not limited to:

Psychodynamic Therapy

Relating current symptoms/ issues to childhood adaptive strategies

Attachment Repair

Understanding established attachment style and working toward secure attachment through the therapeutic relationship

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Somatic Awareness

* I place developing a trusting and valuable relationship with my clients above all else, as achieved through attunement, relatability,
non-judgement, honesty and directness.

I offer virtual therapy to anyone who resides in California and in-person therapy from my home office in Encino, CA. Sessions are typically 50 minutes long but can be booked for longer.
